Before you get started, here is everything you need to know about how AI Studio processes your videos:
Eligible Sessions: AI Studio works on any session recorded in Livestorm, including Live sessions, On-demand events, and Uploaded recordings.
Session Status: The session must be fully processed and marked as Ended before highlights can be generated.
Output Formats: Every generated highlight is produced as a high-quality MP4 video (1080p), accompanied by an MP3 audio track and an SRT subtitles file.
AI Studio currently detects and supports 7 source languages:
English (en), French (fr), Spanish (es), German (de), Dutch (nl), Portuguese (pt), Catalan (ca)
Note: Transcripts, subtitles, and AI-generated clip titles will automatically be produced in the detected source language. Recordings in other languages are not supported during the beta phase.
Flexible Controls: Customize your session's highlight count and clip length range directly in the Generate Highlights form.
Safe Editing: AI Studio never edits or alters your original event recording. Highlights are always exported as completely separate files.
Easy Access: All generated clips are safely stored in your workspace and can be accessed at any time from the AI Studio tab.
You can access AI Studio from two different places in your dashboard, depending on what you want to achieve:
From a Specific Session: Best when you want to dive in and generate new highlights from a recent recording.
From the Left Navigation Tab: Best when you want to browse, manage, or download your entire library of past highlights and clips across all sessions.
Follow these steps to launch the configuration screen and start clipping your event:
1Open your Event: From your Livestorm dashboard, click on the specific event containing the session you want to clip.
2Select the Session: In the sessions list, click on the specific recording you want to use.
3Navigate to the Clips Tab: Inside the session view, click on the Clips tab (marked with a New badge).
4Initiate the Process: Click the Create clips button.
What's Next? You will instantly land on the Generate Highlights configuration screen, where you can customize your clip lengths and preferences before the AI gets to work.
Once you are on the configuration screen, you can customize how the AI analyzes your footage and formats your final clips.
1Choose the Clip Count: Under Highlights, select the maximum number of clips you want AI Studio to produce.
Note: Up to 10 clips maximum during the beta phase
2Set the Highlight Length: Choose your preferred duration range.
Every generated clip will fall strictly within this time limit.
3Toggle Overlapping Highlights: Decide if clips are allowed to share the same source footage.
Toggle ON: AI Studio can pick two clips that share a few seconds of the same footage. This is highly useful if a great moment in your recording can be framed or cut in multiple ways.
Toggle OFF: Every clip is guaranteed to use a completely distinct, non-overlapping part of the recording.
The tone you select guides how the AI automatically writes the title for each clip. (Don't worry—you can always manually rewrite these titles after they are generated).
| Tone | Best For | Description |
| Journalistic | Panels & Interviews | Neutral, factual, and objective—ideal for news-style content and expert panels. |
| Catchy | Social Media Growth | Hooks attention with strong, honest hooks. Perfect for "stop-the-scroll" feed posts. |
| Clickbait | Maximum Reach | Punchy, high-curiosity headlines designed specifically for top-of-funnel content. |
The Keywords section lets you steer the AI toward—or away from—specific topics in your video.
Keywords to Include: The AI will prioritize moments where speakers explicitly mention these terms. Use this to easily hunt down clips focused on a specific product launch, campaign theme, or feature.
Keywords to Avoid: The AI will intentionally skip over moments centered on these terms. This is a great way to filter out intro small-talk, sponsor mentions, or off-topic tangents.
Custom Vocabulary: Input specific brand names, acronyms, or industry jargon to ensure they are spelled perfectly in your transcripts and subtitles (e.g., your company name or technical software terms the AI might otherwise misspell).
💡 Livestorm Tip: You can leave all keyword fields completely empty! If left blank, the AI will automatically pick highlights based on its own internal engagement scoring. We recommend starting without keywords on your first run, then adding them later if you want to refine your results.
Once you are happy with your configurations, click the Generate highlights button in the bottom right corner of your screen.
After you click Generate highlights, AI Studio does all the heavy lifting in the background. You do not need to keep the tab or your browser open while it processes.
To check on your progress:
1 Navigate to the AI Studio tab in your left navigation menu.
2 Select the Session Highlights tab.
Here, you will see a dedicated row for each of your generation jobs along with its current status:
| Status | Meaning |
| Processing | AI Studio is actively analyzing your recording and generating your clips. |
| Done | Clips are ready to review. |
| Failed | Something went wrong — see Check details (eye icon) for the reason. |
3The moment your generation finishes, the owner of the session will automatically receive an email notification with a View Highlights button to jump straight to the clips.
Processing Time: Processing time depends entirely on the total length of your source recording and the current system workload.
Once your clips are ready, it’s time to review the AI's selections.
1Access the Review Screen: From your AI Studio list, click the eye icon next to a completed session, or simply click the View Highlights button in your email notification.
2Understand Quality Scores: You will see all the clips generated from that session ranked by an internal quality score (out of 100). The higher the score, the more confident AI Studio is that the moment will perform well on social media.
Each generated clip is presented as a card that displays key metadata at a glance:
The Quality Score: (e.g., 99/100) indicating the clip's predicted performance.
Duration: The exact length of the clip.
Speakers: The total number of unique speakers detected in that segment.
Auto-generated Tags: Topics and themes the AI identified during the conversation.
Edit Button: A quick shortcut to fine-tune the clip's parameters.
From the main review screen, you can also manage your content at scale:
Export Subs: Click this to download the subtitles for all generated highlights at once.
Export Markers: Click this to download the exact timestamps as chapter markers—ideal if you want to import them into your own video editing tool for further manual tweaks.
Filter Content: Use the filter icon at the top of the list to narrow down your clips by specific tags, duration ranges, or detected speakers.
If you need to tweak the wording, layout, or length of a clip, you can fine-tune it directly inside the platform.
Click the Edit button on any highlight card to open the built-in editor:
The editing suite is divided into three distinct tabs to help you customize your content:
Transcripts: Review and edit the auto-generated text word by word. Any spelling or grammar corrections you make here will automatically update the burned-in subtitles on the video. Click Save transcript when you are finished. You can also use the Chapters option to break longer clips into distinct sections.
Template: Customize the visual style of your clip. Use this tab to apply branded intro or outro frames, lower-thirds, and distinct caption styling.
Video Layout: Choose your final output aspect ratio (vertical or square) and adjust how the speaker's frame is positioned on the screen.
Precise Trimming: Use the interactive timeline at the bottom of the screen to drag and trim the clip's start and end frames with sub-second precision.
Switching Between Clips: You don't need to exit to the main menu to edit multiple videos. Use the Other Highlights dropdown menu in the top right corner to jump seamlessly between different clips within the same session.
Finalize: Once you are satisfied with your adjustments, click Export in the top right corner to render your final, platform-ready video.
Once you have customized and exported your highlights, they are automatically organized and saved in one central location. You can access every video you have ever created by navigating to the Clips tab inside AI Studio.
From this centralized grid view, you can manage your content with a single click:
Instant Preview: Check your final video immediately by clicking the play button directly on the thumbnail.
Quick Share: Distribute your clip to your audience right from the highlight card without opening extra menus.
Full Download & Export: Open any specific clip to access advanced sharing options, grab direct links, or download the final file to your local device.
To download your assets or distribute your new content, click on any individual clip within your library to open its dedicated Detail View:
You can download your generated highlight in three different formats, depending on how you plan to reuse it:
Video (MP4): Downloads the full video clip in high-quality 1080p MP4 format, ready to be uploaded directly to any channel.
Audio (MP3): Downloads an audio-only track. This is highly useful for creating podcast snippets, audiograms, or voiceovers.
Subtitles (SRT): Downloads a dedicated closed-caption file. You can upload this alongside your MP4 video on YouTube, LinkedIn, or any other platform that supports external SRT files.
You can also Edit in the editor to refine your highlight, adjust the content, and customize it before sharing or exporting.
Instead of downloading the files locally, you can use the built-in sharing tools to distribute your content instantly to:
YouTube (Shorts): Export directly to your channel.
TikTok: Send ready-to-share clips straight to your feed.
The first time you share to a destination, you'll be asked to connect that platform's account.
