Create an Event on LinkedIn

Let's dive into how to set up your event on LinkedIn:

1
Click on the Create an event icon on your LinkedIn home page.

2
Select Online as the event type and LinkedIn Live as the event format.

3
Configure your event and publish it.
You can edit the post's description on LinkedIn as many times as you’d like. However, you can’t edit the title, image, date, or time of the scheduled stream after it is created.
4
Once your stream and event are published on LinkedIn, the latter will become visible and your participants will be able to register.
5
You will then be able to view your upcoming streams on LinkedIn Go Live.

6
You will be able to access the room in which you will preview your stream before going live by clicking on prepare to go live one hour before your event. Once in the preview room, follow the three steps to set up your stream.

Our Livestorm Expert's Tips

  • Visit https://www.linkedin.com/video/golive/manage 5 to 10 minutes before the event starts to link your Livestorm event and ensure everything is set up correctly.
  • Start your event on Livestorm to begin transmitting it in the "preview" on LinkedIn. It's recommended to start your Livestorm event 2 minutes before the scheduled LinkedIn start time to allow participants to join, but avoid starting too early. Consider displaying a PDF, video, or a 5-minute timer to create a waiting room experience across both platforms.
  • Assign a moderator for each platform. The moderator can relay questions from LinkedIn directly to the speakers by posting them in the questions tab on Livestorm.
  • To test your setup, try running a few tests on your own LinkedIn account using "Go Live Now" without scheduling events to avoid broadcasting to your contacts prematurely.
