For the best audio/video quality, we recommend Chrome or Edge on a desktop and closing VPNs or bandwidth-heavy apps.
Guest speakers can join a Livestorm session to present, interact, and collaborate. This article explains how to use your speaker link, configure devices, go on stage, and share content confidently.
In this article
A computer with a supported browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari (12.1+), or Edge (79+) on desktop
A stable internet connection (prefer wired or strong Wi‑Fi)
Headset or earbuds to prevent echo
A quiet, well-lit space
For the best audio/video quality, we recommend Chrome or Edge on a desktop and closing VPNs or bandwidth-heavy apps.
You’ll receive a personal speaker invitation via email from the event organizer (sent by Livestorm on their behalf). This email includes:
Your personal “Join as a speaker” link
Add-to-calendar options (Google, Outlook, iCal)
Session date and time
Your link is personal. Don’t forward it or share it publicly. Anyone with your link could join as you.
Click Add to Calendar in your invitation email and choose Google, Outlook, or iCal. Your calendar event will include your personal join link and automatically display times in your timezone.
When it’s time, click your personal speaker link (from the email or calendar). What you’ll see:
Lobby (device setup):
Choose your camera and microphone
Optionally select a virtual background
Preview your audio levels and camera framing
Waiting screen (if the event hasn’t started):
You’ll wait here until the host starts the session
As a guest speaker (a contributor to the session), you can go on stage in two ways:
Click Participate inside the room when you’re ready to speak
Accept an on-stage invitation sent by the host/moderator
Once on stage, you control your own mic and camera. For privacy and control, no one else can turn your devices on for you.
If you see “compatibility mode” or can’t go on stage, switch to a supported desktop browser and disable VPNs or conflicting extensions.
You can share content directly from the room. Click Share (or the share icon) and pick what you need:
Screen share: entire screen, a window, or a browser tab
Media: PDFs or videos
Apps: integrations such as Google Slides, Figma, Miro, and more
Links: promote a link to all attendees during the session
On macOS, allow Screen Recording for your browser in System Settings > Privacy & Security, then restart your browser.
Safari doesn’t allow sharing a single window or tab—use entire screen or switch to Chrome/Edge for more granular sharing.
As a contributor to the session, you can:
Speak on stage (audio/video)
Interact via Chat
Answer questions in Q&A
Participate in polls (when enabled by the host)
Can’t find the email?
Check spam/junk folders and search your inbox for the event name
Ask the organizer to resend your invitation
Browser asks for permissions
Click Allow for mic and camera
If blocked, open your browser’s site permissions and enable mic/camera access, then refresh
Can’t go on stage
Use a supported desktop browser (Chrome recommended)
Turn off VPNs and close bandwidth-heavy apps
If you see “compatibility mode,” switch to a fully supported browser
Screen sharing issues
On macOS, enable Screen Recording for your browser, then restart it
Safari: window/tab share isn’t available—share entire screen or switch to Chrome/Edge
Firefox: ensure you’ve allowed screen sharing in the page permissions, then refresh
Echo or audio feedback
Wear headphones
Mute your mic when not speaking
When sharing a tab with audio, keep only one audio source active
Do I need to register like attendees?
No. Use your personal speaker link from the invitation email. You don’t need to fill out the public registration form.
Can I rehearse before the event?
Yes. You can open your personal link to test your devices in the lobby anytime. To practice in the live room, coordinate with your host so the room is open.
Can I join from a phone or tablet?
For speaking on stage and screen sharing, we strongly recommend a desktop browser. Mobile/tablet support is limited for presenters.
Will the session be recorded?
Ask your host. If recording is enabled, anything you do on stage (audio/video/screen share) will be captured.
During this 30-minute live event, we will introduce you to the platform. You will learn how to use Livestorm for your webinars.
