Why should I care?
With this feature, you can present slides right inside the event room! You won't need to switch between your shared screen and the event room if you only have one monitor.
What format should I upload?
Presentations must be in PDF format, meaning you won't keep your Powerpoint transitions. Don't try to upload PPT or KEY files. Here's how to export in PDF from Keynote and from Powerpoint .
Who can manage the presentation?
For PDF - All team members and guest speakers assigned to the event session can pass PDF slides.
For MP4 - All team members and guest speakers assigned to the event session can move/control the video player.
If you leave the stage, the presentation will remain on stage.
Who can download the presentation?
If you want your PDF to be downloadable by your attendees, you can activate this option in your event settings (Settings > Event room > Allow attendees to download shared PDF presentations).
If that box is checked, your attendees will be able to click on the download icon in the top-right corner.
Is the presentation available inside the replay?
Yes! Everything (including your shared media) will be recorded 👌
Is the presentation supported for mobile users and compatibility mode (older browsers)?
Yes! Attendees can access the event with your media from any browser on a computer, mobile, or tablet device.
How to add a pre-recorded video to the event
Adding a pre-recorded video can dramatically increase your engagement with richer content. Popular use cases
- Click on Share > Share a media.
- Upload your video (into the top of the popup window) to add a new file or select an existing one. Once it's uploaded, you can click on Choose this media to share it to the event room.
- To remove the video from the stage, click on the X on the top right corner.
If you add a new video make sure to upload it well in advance as the upload and processing time can take a little while depending on the size of the video.
When you play an MP4, you don't have to stay connected to the room. You can just play your video and leave - the video will stay on stage and keep playing until the end.
If team members or guest speakers are wearing AirPods while a video is played, make sure to tell them NOT TO REMOVE them, not even one, as it will pause the video!
What format should I upload?
Make sure your videos are in MP4 format. Don't try to upload WAV, MKV or MOV. You can use a software like Movavi to convert your video file to MP4.
What's the max size of the MP4 I can upload?
You can upload MP4 files with a size of up to 4GB. Make sure that your file isn't too heavy or your audience won't be able to stream correctly if they have a low bandwidth. If you have a larger file, we recommend sharing a YouTube video instead. You could also optimize your file size with a software like Movavi.
Are videos synchronized when I click pause or if I go forward in the video?
Yes, everything is synchronized for your attendees.
Is the presentation supported for mobile users and compatibility mode (older browsers)?
Yes, all your attendees on any browser or device will get the video as well. iOS however does not support having two videos playing at the same time. Meaning people on iOS won't be able to watch simultaneously your live stream AND the video you uploaded. But they can play the stream that they want.
What about a YouTube Video?
Yes, paste a link to whichever YouTube video you'd like! The same constraints as uploaded MP4s will apply (except for the format obviously).
Share a media FAQ
How many media can I share?
You can only share one media in the event room at a time.
Who can view my media library?
Team members from the same workspace will be able to view each other's media.
Guest speakers do not have access to the media that team members within a workspace have uploaded/shared.
What happens if I get disconnected or leave the event room?
Shared media will continue playing no matter what (or a PDF just stays on stage), even if you have a disconnection, leave the event room, etc.
When you play an MP4, you don't have to stay connected to the room anymore. You can just play your video and leave - the video will stay on stage and keep playing until the end. We hope this will provide you a more frictionless experience while playing videos during your events.
How do I switch seamlessly between media and speakers on stage?
By hovering over a stream, you'll see the dock where you can maximize or minimize the stream, and/or remove the stream from stage.
