Choose and Upload a Brand’s Fonts

This feature is only available in Pages & Hubs, our new registration page builder.

Give a brand its own typeface and pick the font each kind of text uses, from the main headline to quotes.

What It's For#

A brand’s fonts all live in the Typography section of its editor. “Brand fonts” is the brand’s one list of fonts, built-in or uploaded. “Text styles” then picks, from that list, the font for each kind of text on the page.

Pages, hubs and embeds that use the brand show these fonts, on Venue’s addresses and on your custom domain, and the builder preview shows them too. Venue serves uploaded fonts from its own domain, so you have nothing to host or set up.

How To#

1 Open the Brands tab, then the brand. Under Typography, “Brand fonts” lists the fonts the brand uses. Add one of Venue’s fonts with “Add a built-in font…”, or click “Upload a font” and pick your files.

2 Upload one file per weight and style, in WOFF2, WOFF, TTF or OTF, up to 4 MB each. Venue names the font and guesses each file’s weight and style from its file name. Click the pencil next to the font to rename it, correct a weight or a style, or add another style.

3 Under “Text styles”, pick a font for Title, Subtitle, Section heading, Subheading, Body, Caption and Quote. A style left on its default follows another one: Title and Subheading follow Section heading, and Section heading and the others follow Body. A brand with a single font has nothing to pick here.

4 Click “Save”. Pages and hubs that already use the brand keep their fonts until you update them with “Review & update”.

Good to Know#

  • Campaign emails and pages designed in AI Free mode keep Venue’s built-in fonts, whatever the brand uses.

  • Make sure your font licence covers use on websites: Venue sends the files to every visitor of your pages.

  • A brand can hold up to 4 uploaded fonts, with up to 8 styles each. Uploading a file for a weight and style the font already has replaces that style.

  • A brand always keeps at least one font. Removing a font from the list puts the styles that used it back on their default, and if Body used it, Body switches to the first font left.

  • Uploaded fonts don’t appear in the Library, and Venue keeps their files as long as a brand or a page uses them.
