Sign Up With SAML SSO

Your IT department might have enforced a new way of authenticating to the third-party applications used internally: the SAML SSO (Security Assertion Markup Language Single Sign-On) authentication. Employees can sign in to third-party services with only one same email and one password thanks to an identity provider. This increases ease of use and security for employees. You can choose to make SAML SSO authentication mandatory or optional for your team members.

If you want to activate SAML SSO with Livestorm, please fill in the form to join the waiting list.

The identity provider needs to be compatible with SAML 2.0 protocol. There are 3 main identity providers on the market: Okta, Microsoft Azure Directory, Onelogin. They are all compatible with SAML 2.0 protocol.

Setting Up SAML SSO with Livestorm

1
You will need to create a Livestorm app inside your identity provider's interface.
2
Your CSM will give you technical connection information called the XML certificate to use in order to finish the set-up of the app.
3
You will then need to retrieve the connection information for this new application in the interface of your identity provider often called the Identity provider metadata - and send it to your CSM.
4
Your CSM will finalize the setup and activate the feature on your workspace

SAML SSO can only be activated by your CSM on your Livestorm workspace.

Inviting Your Team Members to Use SAML SSO With Livestorm

1
Ask the admin of your identity provider to invite your team members to the Livestorm app inside the identity provider.
2
Go to your Livestorm Account Settings > Team Members and invite your team members.

The email addresses of the team members need to be the same as the ones inside the identity provider.

If the team members already exist in your Livestorm workspace, they won't have to sign up again and will be able to directly sign in.

Signing Up With Mandatory SAML SSO

1
You will receive an email to activate your Livestorm account.
2
After accepting the invitation, you will be redirected to the following page to check the consent and activate your Livestorm account.

3
Once you have agreed to the consent and clicked on the Sign up free button, you will be redirected to your identity provider sign-in page (we have used Okta as an example of identity provider).

4
Fill in your credentials and click on Sign in
4
Well done, now you have a Livestorm account! 🎉

Signing Up With Optional SAML SSO

Even if SAML SSO is optional on your Livestorm workspace, we do advise you to use this way of authentication since it's the most secured one.

You will receive an email to activate your Livestorm account.
2
After accepting the invitation, you will be redirected to the following page and will be able to sign up with SAML SSO or another method (email & password, Google, or Microsoft ).
